15,033 public school pupils’ JAMB registration costs cleared by Kogi government.

at keeping with Governor Yahaya Bello’s free education policy, the Kogi State Government has granted a total of N115,000,000 to pay 15,033 students’ JAMB registration fees at public institutions situated throughout the State.

During a press conference in Lokoja on Tuesday, State Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology Hon. Wemmy Jones revealed this information. He stated that the action is an additional proof of Governor Yahaya Bello’s dedication to providing free education to all Kogi students.

The Commissioner claims that the action is a follow-up to the previous payment of over N497 million to WAEC, which made sure that no student in Kogi public schools was had to pay anything upfront before completing any internal paperwork.

“I am happy to inform parents of Kogi pupils attending public schools that the Governor has already issued cash for their children’s JAMB registration fees, so they don’t need to worry about paying for it themselves.

This incident, which occurred a few weeks after the State Government paid WAEC hundreds of millions of Naira to register thousands of students in public schools, is more proof of the Governor’s resolve to guarantee that no Kogi student is denied the opportunity to receive an education due to poverty.

“Kogi has continued to be a beautiful commentary on education for all, having surpassed the benchmark of UNESCO on education budgetary allocation,” the speaker stated.

Additionally, according to kogistate.gov.ng, the regulation would apply to all pupils enrolled in public secondary schools in the State.

Under Governor Yahaya Bello’s direction, the state government has improved the infrastructure for education, hired more skilled teachers, expanded technical education, and made education universally free.

Mr. Adejoh Philip, a father, expressed gratitude to the governor for the gesture and said he will be remembered for providing a strong basis for the state’s educational revival.

“I pulled my child from a private school and brought him to the GYB Model Science Secondary School, Adankolo after seeing how lovely the institution is. Numerous parents are following suit. He has made enormous educational investments in our kids.
