2023: Datti and I have never stolen government money – Peter Obi

With bare 33 days to the February 25 presidential election, the standard bearer of the Labour Party (LP) has challenged the candidates of other political parties to publish any link or indictment of both himself and his running mate, Dati Ahmed on cases of corruption or stealing of public find.

Obi in what looked like an unveiled dig at his two major rivals Atiku Abubakar and Bola Tinubu who have been engaged in mutual accusations of corruption, urged the electorate to look towards him and his running mate, Datti Ahmed saying the two of them have never stolen government money.

Peter Obi revealed that they remain the right people to be elected into office in next month’s presidential election.

Peter Obi stated this at the weekend at the Rwang Pam Stadium in Jos, the Plateau State capital at the campaign rally of the party.

He said those accusing him of anything were only mentioning that he is stingy but never made any allegation of corruption against him, adding that the country’s resources would be well secured by him and utilised for the benefit of the common man.

The Labour Party presidential candidate said he and his running mate, as well as their party leaders, were young, intelligent, agile and active, unlike the candidates of other political parties, who are old men.

He said that poverty, corruption and insecurity in the country would be tackled if he is elected.
