The All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters in Adamawa have contributed ₦50 million for a gubernatorial hopeful, Abdurrazaq Namdas, for the purchase of normination form.
The groups, Adamawa Central Senatorial zone support group and the APC support group from Ganye Chiefdom in the state House of Assembly made the contributions in Yola on Saturday.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Abdurrazaq Namdas is the incumbent member representing Ganye, Toungo, Jada and Mayo Belwa federal constituency in the House of Representatives.
Speaking on behalf of the Central zone supporters, Alhaji Usman Ibrahim said they deemed it fit to contribute to the aspiration of gubernatorial aspirant Namdas because of the confidence and trust they have for the leadership traits of the aspirant.
“We wish to state that we are committed stakeholders in the rescue project and devoted progressives who are driven by the common interest of providing credible leadership and good governance through Democratic means.
“The donation of the ₦25 million is a resolution to support Namdas by well-wishers, like minds, political associates, amalgamated Unions, traders, organized peasants farmers, and artisans to give their token for Namdas, who is on a rescue mission for the state,” Ibrahim said.
Also speaking on behalf of the Ganye Chiefdom, Alhassan Hammanjoda, member representing Ganye constituencyy in the state house of assembly, said that the move is a collective decision and aspirations for Namdas’ ambition.
Hammanjoda noted that the APC members from the state house of assembly, representing Ganye, Jada and Toungo, all in Ganye Chiefdom, in collaboration with Namdas support group are solemnly behind and working for the gubernatorial aspirant for Adamawa governorship election in 2023.
“Namdas support group and senior citizens in the Chiefdom wish to declare our total support to Hon. Abdurrazaq Namdas’ aspiration for the office of the governor in Adamawa under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“It is in view of this, the APC caucus in Adamawa State House of Assembly from Ganye Chiefdom and other stakeholders mobilised ₦25 million to purchase gubernatorial nomination form for Abdurrazaq Namdas,” Hammanjoda said.
Both speakers called on the APC supporters and people of Adamawa to rally round and support Namdas’ aspiration to be the next governor of the state from 2023 (NAN)
