The support base of Peter Obi and his Vice, Senator Datti Baba Ahmed got a boost on Monday as the defunct National Conscience Party (NCP) collapsed its structure for the Labour party and its Presidential candidate.
Recall that NCP National Chairman, Tanko Yunusa has been in the Labour Party Campaign Council and one of the spokespersons.
Though the party is still battling the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in court over plans to deregister it, the NCP in a statement on Monday by it’s National Chairman, Tanko Yunusa and National Secretary VC Odemejemba said it will mobilize it’s members and supporters nationwide to canvass and vote for the labour party candidature because it shares Peter Obi’s philosophy and manifesto.
The NCP National Chairman who also stepped down to concentrate on his current position as a spokesman of the Labour Party Presidential Campaign Council said the party reviewed deeply the 7 Point Agenda of Peter Obi and Datti Baba Ahmad and concluded that it is good enough to transform Nigeria.
According to NCP; “As captured in the 72 pages manifesto tagged it is possible our pact with Nigerians. This is in consonant with the slogan of the NCP of abolition of poverty and 10 care programs.
“Our focus is to ensure that wealth is created through sectors that improve the wellbeing of all Nigerians. Our theory of change is DEMOCRATIC CITIZENSHIP.”
