2023: We’ll defend Peter Obi’s mandate, POMAG assures Nigerians

As the race for the 2023 presidential election gathers momentum, a political group, Peter Obi Mandate Group (POMAG), has said it will work hard to defend the mandate of the Presidential Candidate of Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi.
Speaking at the inauguration of POMAG on Tuesday in Abuja, the National Coordinator of the Group, Rev. Innocent Peace Udochukwu, said the clamour for Peter Obi to become Nigeria’s president can be traced to the passionate call by majority of Nigerians for positive changes in the country.
The group consists of notable Nigerians, with veteran Nollywood Actor and politician, Dr. Barrister Kenneth Okonkwo, as the group’s patron.
Members of the group inaugurated include Dr. Samson Danjuma
POMAG Executive Director, Rev. Innocent Chukwudi Peace-Udochukwu, POMAG National Coordinator, Dr Liz Ejiogu Nat’l Women Coordinator/Contact and Mobilization, Aliyu M.A. Salami,
National Secretary, Rachel Ndit Samuel, Deputy National women coordinator, Hon. Austin Obi Nat’l Political Adviser.
Others are: Comrade Akpausoh A. Akpausoh, National Media Adviser, Chief Ejike Richard Ufonna, National Treasurer, Ambassador Peter Ushie National Director of Operations, Hon. Sylvester Onoja, National Director of Finance, Comrade James Expensive, National Director of Communication Electronics Media.
Others include: Comrade B. C. Ekwueme National Director of Publicity, Rev. Thomas Onyebuchi, National Director ICT Media, Peter M. Obitoro, Deputy National Director ICT Media, Hon. Prosper Okadigbo Nat’l Youth Leader, Mrs Lizzy Walter National Welfare Director, Chief Victor Chigor Lagos State Coordinator, Pastor Sam Onyeabo, FCT Coordinator, Mazi Wilson Akachi Nasarawa State Coordinator.
Udochukwu said: “The formation of Peter Obi Mandate Group POMAG was borne out of the need to join millions of other passionate Nigerians, who are already rooting for Labour party to project, defend and protect the mandate of Mr Peter Obi before, during and after the election.
“That will see him occupying Aso Rock, the seat of power, as the next President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” he said.
Also speaking after the inauguration, the National Youth Leader of POMAG, Prosper Okadigbo, said he is optimistic that Peter Obi will be declared the winner of the presidential election, come February, 2023.
Okadigbo, who dismissed insinuation that the Labour/Obi/Datti movement is only effective in Southern Nigeria, said that Peter Obi is a national movement.
“Labour Party and Peter Obi is a national movement. Peter Obi will shock the big shots by bringing on board political arithmetic of the 21st century as a strategy to knock off other major contenders.
 “Peter Obi is everywhere, even those places you think is not known, he is there,” he said.
On report making the rounds that Obi/Datti supporters, also known as Obidients, are arrogant in their actions, the POMAG National Youth Leader stressed that critics of Obi should put their fear to rest, and that the call for a new Nigeria, with pragmatic and proactive leaders, is non-negotiable.
