Ahead of the 2024 Lotus Bank Abeokuta 10KM Race organized by Nilayo Sports Management Limited (NSML), Kit Pickup commenced at the Cultural center, Kuto, Abeokuta on Monday, 23rd September.
According to the organisers, the Kit Pickup, Exhibition, Health Talk and other side attractions will run through 27th September, while the race takes centre stage on Saturday, 28th September.
A record 6,000 runners, including elite athletes registered for this year’s event tagged ‘For Greatness’, which will be part of activities commemorating the birthday anniversary of the Alake and Paramount ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo.
The 10km race will flag-off at Iyana Oloke at 6am and will terminate at the Alake Palace, where the post race concert will be held.
Kenya’s Peter Nwaniki is the current holder of the men’s crown, while Shamila Kisirir also from Kenya is the reigning women champion.
