Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, on Thursday flagged off the construction of 4,400 Housing Estate in Karu, headquarter of Karu Local Government Council.
The programme which is part of the Governor’s chain of activities to commemorate his second Year anniversary in Office, come May, 29, 2021, is aimed at providing adequate Housing for the people.
Speaking during the occasion the Governor said the Peninsula Hills Housing Estate project which is a Public Private Partnership (PPP) initiative will occupy a land max of 270 hectares, adding that the State Government, for now, has approved 100 hectares for the commencement of the work.
Sule who explained that a network of road have been constructed in the area and other necessary logistics provided for the smooth execution of the project, said all controversies concerning the land have been settled.
According to him, his administration is serious about the project because of the benefits to be derived from it.
He expressed gratitude to Affinity Realty for partnering with the State government towards addressing the problem of the Housing deficit in the area.
Earlier, Chairman of Affinity Reality, Mohammed Abubakar, who thanked the State Government for giving his Organization the opportunity to add value to addressing the problem of Housing in the state, said the proposed estate will stimulate economic activities as well as provide sustainable living.
The Chairman who disclosed that the project would also have schools and recreational facilities said the Company will invest an initial amount of N7. 8 billion.
He promised to deliver qualitative work that will be beneficial to the people.
