This year edition of Seyi Akinwunmi Charity Tournament marks the 10th anniversary in the series which took place recently at the Maracana in Ajegunle,New National Star learnt.
For U-15 boys; the teams competing for honours are Ajegunle United, Dazzle FA (Orphanage Home), Lofty skills soccer Academy and Bright Future Stars (largely composed of U-13 ekofootball players that have grown to U-15).
This year edition . Four male and four female U-15 teams will be at the one day event together with 16 U-13 teams comprising eight male and eight female teams.
A member of the organizing committee, Dotun Coker said that the tournament was a way of giving back to the society by Barrister Akinwunmi.

He shared insights into his current engagements, involving extensive consulting both locally and internationally. Notably, he revealed that the past year had been financially rewarding.
The Barrister expressed his dedication to ongoing intellectual pursuits and the exciting projects he’s actively involved in.
He proudly declared that until 2021, every single club in the Nigerian Women’s Football League (NWFL) had a product of the Lagos State Association .
Barrister Akinwunmi concluded that satisfaction with the progress made by these players. He articulated his love for women football, acknowledging its delayed recognition but applauding the rapid strides it has made. With conviction, he stated, “I believe we are winning the World Cup soon,” underscoring his optimism for the future of Nigerian women’s football on the global stage.
