In appreciation to God for good health and ability to lead and promote unity among the market women at 60, the woman leader, Kado Fish Market Traders Association (KFMTA), Kado, Abuja the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Princess (Mrs) Val Ozigbu – Adefioye has promised to be more selfless and dedicated in leadership. Also promising more cordial relationship between the traders under her watch, their men counterpart, the government and customers, she said it would go a long way to make the traders continue to contribute more to the economy, even as she commended the women traders for their cooperation so far.
“As healthy and strong as I am at this age, I shall not only continue to worship, praise and involve God in my leadership and everything I am doing, but also remain dedicated and selfless in serving the women under my watch in the market. I shall ensure that there be more cordial relationship between the women traders, their men counterpart, the government and customers. With cordial relationship with government, the traders will contribute immensely to the economy the more, because women traders are everywhere and are diligent in the business of buying and selling,” she stated.
The woman leader made the promise at her 60th year birthday anniversary she celebrated at Grand Cubana Hotels in Jabi, Abuja the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), which was done amidst worshipping, praying and singing praises to God.
Shortly after praying, praising and glorifying God at the event, among those who spoke to our correspondent were her son, Prince Dare Ifeanyi Adefioye, his father, Engr Ademola Adefioye, the Secretary, FCT Chapter of National Association of Nigerian Traders (NANTs), Mrs Ogbuefi Chinyere, the celebrant’s sister, Evg Philomena Duruzor and the celebrant herself.
Speaking to our man shortly after the event, the FCT NANTs Secretary, Mrs Ogbuefi Chinyere said that the market woman leader deserved to be celebrated, due to the leadership roles she has been playing in the FCT NANTs. Mrs Ogbuefi therefore noted that her leadership acumen has impacted positively to traders under her and the FCT in general. “This woman, we gathered inheritred her leadership qualities, humility, doing thing with the fear of God from her family. She should be emulated and I advise her to keep doing that which made her to be healthy to celebrate her 60th birthday; all those things she has been doing, let she continue to do that,” she added.
Although the Secretary further commended the government in power for support to traders, but was quick to enjoin the government to do more, which if done, according to her would go a long way to address the economy, saying that the traders are the hearth beat of the nation.
According to her son, Dare, “I can’t thank God enough for the kind of mother He has given to us. She is so committed in religion and goes about leadership selflessly, especially in the market where she is a woman leader. So I pray that we the youths of today emulate her and I appeal to God to give her more years to be with us so as to continue to serve humanity. Her longer satay on earth will make us learn selfless leadership and ability to worship God from her.”
Her husband, Engr (Prince) Adefioye on his own said that he must continue to give thank to God all the time, even as he admitted that God started to answer all his pryers by giving him such a woman as a wife. Informing that he and his wife are prince and princesses, as well as advising their children to emulte their mother’s life style, which if done, according to him would go a long way for them, Engr Adebola Adefioye therefore said that his wife is known for perseverance and commitment as a christiian, even as he enjoined them to embrace God like himself and their mother.
According to her elder sister, Evg (Mrs) Duruzor, “My sister, Val was born on Januay, 18, 1963, when the war was about to start and by the grace of God nothing happened to her. When she became eight years old, I took her with me when I got married and she was with me for many years. So I advise her to continue to live the Christian life she was brought up, meaning that she has got it all. There is nothing in this world. She should keep abiding by the rule of God, which will make her to live long with happiness on earth and focus in a those thing that is good in the eyes of God.”
Overwhelmed with happiness, in her closing remark, the celebrant said the secret behind her good health, success, looking below 60, among others is her ability to submit totally to the will of God. Advising her children and today’s youths and those who are approaching 60 to always put God first in everything they are doing, Princes Val Ozigbu – Adefioye therefore reiterated that the response of her invitees and the way God has been helping her would motivate her carrying out selfless leadership in the market and other areas.
