Umuahia, the capital city of Abia state, witnessed its biggest gathering since the creation of Abia state as it stood agog as the one million march for Peter Obi presidency touched Umuahia on Saturday.
The one million march kicked off from the Abia state express tower, through Okpara square, Bank road and ended up at Umuahia wall clock tower roundabout, defying the early morning rain.
Speaking to our reporter in Umuahia during the one million march, High Chief Obi Aguocha, Labour Party (LP) candidate for Umuahia/Ikwuano federal constituency for the 2023 general Elections, thanked Umuahia citizens for defying the morning rain and coming out in their thousands to show support and love for Peter Obi presidency without any financial inducement.
He said that the people of Umuahia/Ikwuano cannot afford to make electoral mistake that do not have democratic change, ideology or leadership qualities devoid of monitory inducement.
According to him, “Today’s March is to wake up the people of the federal constituency from slumber to enable them enjoy democratic dividends and value Peter Obi presidency will give them come 2023.”
He said that Peter Obi will not make the change alone, he needs legislatures who have like minds like Peter Obi to make the desired change possible and called on the people of Umuahia/Ikwuano federal constituency to show him and other Labour Party candidates the same support come 2023 general elections.
He said that under Labour Party leadership with Peter Obi as president, Nigeria will witness change from a consuming nation to a productive nation.
Aguocha said that poverty has no religion or ethnicity and called on Nigerians to join Peter Obi who have been tested and verified as a capable hand to turn Nigerian economy around for good.
