The president will depart Abuja for Ethiopia on Thursday, February 15, according to a statement made by the presidential spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelelae, on Wednesday in Abuja.
“Educate an African fit for the 21st Century: Building resilient education systems for increased access to inclusive, lifelong, quality, and relevant learning in Africa,” according to Ngelale, is the topic of this year’s summit.
He continued by saying that the President will attend high-level discussions with other African leaders to discuss institutional reforms of the African Union, peace and security, thematic concerns like climate change, and the priorities and participation procedures of the continent in the G20.
Ngelale stated that President Tinubu, in his capacity as the regional body’s chairman, will also attend an extraordinary summit of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of ECOWAS on the fringes of the meeting.
He disclosed that several ministers and other high-ranking government officials will travel with President Tinubu, who is anticipated to return to Abuja after the meeting.
