The 11 newly appointed judges of the Supreme Court of Nigeria have been urged by Chief Justice Olukayode Ariwoola to regard themselves as God’s envoys on earth and to prepare an account of their stewardship for God at a later date.
During the inauguration of the eleven recently appointed Supreme Court Justices on Monday, Ariwoola delivered a speech in which she cautioned them against engaging in any actions that could potentially bring the Apex Court into disrepute.
He claimed that their ascension to the Supreme Court bench is a result of their intelligence and obvious dedication to hard work, qualities that are indicative of exceptional judicial performance.
Others are Justice Obande Ogbuinya (South-East), Justice Stephen Adah (North-Central), Justice Habeeb Abiru (South-West), Justice Jamilu Tukur (Northwest), Justice Abubakar Umar (Northwest) and Justice Mohammed Idris (North-Central).
Justice Stephen Adah (North-Central), Justice Habeeb Abiru (South-West), Justice Jamilu Tukur (Northwest), Justice Abubakar Umar (Northwest), and Justice Mohammed Idris (North-Central) are the other justices. They are each from a different region.
