Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the leading Igbo sociocultural organization, has advised President Bola Tinubu to reorganize his economic team in a calculated manner.
Ohanaeze said that the growing problems in the North and Southwest would be resolved by carefully reorganizing his economic team.
It stated that Tinubu ought to follow in the footsteps of former President Olusegun Obasanjo and give prominent Igbos leadership over his reorganized economic team.
“President Tinubu should promptly consider a strategic overhaul of his Economic Team to address the escalating crises witnessed in the North and Southwest regions,” stated factional Ohanaeze Secretary-General Okechukwu Isiguzoro in a statement he signed.
President Tinubu must acknowledge the relative calm that currently prevails in the Southeast, which is demonstrated by the lack of widespread resource looting that has afflicted areas like Abuja, portions of the North, and Southwest.
“Under the guidance of internationally recognized Igbo economists, the economic team of former President Obasanjo, President Tinubu is urged to take inspiration from the leadership displayed by Ndigbo as the backbone of Nigeria’s economy. The foundation of this plan is the creation of a new economic alliance headed by Igbo professionals, who will also promote Nigeria’s membership in the BRICS group and strengthen the Naira so it can effectively compete with other currencies by eliminating the Dollar in Nigeria.
