“Intimidation Has an End Date; Don’t Worry About Me.” – Fubara

Remember that Rivers State has been engulfed in a political turmoil since October 30, 2023.

The situation caused a severe rift in the House of Assembly, with four members pledging loyalty to Fubara and 27 members siding with Wike.

Following an explosion that rocked the State Assembly complex’s sacred chamber on October 29, 2023, the crisis was also made public.

The state legislature suspended four lawmakers and began the impeachment procedure against Fubara after the fire incident.

President Bola Tinubu intervened in December 2023 in an effort to defuse the dispute, which resulted in the creation of an eight-point resolution that Wike and Fubara signed.

Nevertheless, the state’s turmoil had not been contained by this peace accord.

The crisis took a new turn last week when the state’s leadership of the All Progressive Congress (APC) pushed the 27 members who support Wike to start the impeachment process against Fubara.

In their rekindled cold war, Wike and Fubara traded barbs with one another over the weekend.

Speaking at the state’s Government House in Port Harcourt, Fubara emphasized that intimidation has an expiration date and that people shouldn’t be overly concerned about him.

“Intimidation has a time, and when it expires, it’s over,” he declared. Pharaoh threatened the children of Israel even in the Bible, but his tactics eventually backfired.

“Every negative thing has an origin and an end. Please don’t worry about me; we are focused on the future and have moved past it.
