Thirty terrorists are killed by NAF airstrikes in Katsina, Borno.

According to the Nigeria Air Force (NAF), 30 terrorists were killed in airstrikes against their hideouts in Katsina and Borno during the air component of operations Hadarin Daji and Hadin Kai.

This was announced in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja by AVM Edward Gabkwet, the Director of Public Relations and Information for the Nigerian Air Force.

The airstrikes carried out on May 27 by the air component of Operation Hadarin Daji in North West, according to Gabkwet, killed a number of terrorists who were followers of Babura, a well-known terrorist mastermind.

He added that the strikes took place in the Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina, close to the hideouts of the bandits Bakai, Bakarya, and Yartsintsiya.

He claims that after the strikes, reliable intelligence showed that roughly thirty terrorists had been proven to have been neutralized.

He added that it was verified that Babura barely avoided annihilation, while the majority of his infantry fell.

Similar airstrikes targeting militants at a formerly abandoned hideout were reportedly also conducted by the air component of Operation Hadin Kai the same day at Tumbun Fulani, close to Lake Chad, according to Gabkwet.

According to him, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions discovered a pattern that was compatible with terrorists moving to new hideouts and moving their supplies, which is why the strikes were approved.

Remember that on September 26 and 28, 2023, NAF aircraft attacked this same area, eliminating several terrorists and destroying their supplies and mobilizations in the process.

He claimed that the fact that the surviving terrorists have returned to their previously destroyed stronghold is proof of the progress being made by air and ground forces in driving them from their numerous hiding places.
