Fake News: NOA partners Nasarawa Govt to enhance information dissemination

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has partnered with the Nasarawa State Government to improve the dissemination of information to the public. The collaboration aims to combat fake news and misinformation, which have become a significant challenge in the state.

The Honorable Commissioner of Information, Culture, and Tourism, TPL. Ibrahim Uthman Angbolo, received a delegation from the NOA, led by the state Director, Dr. Priscilla Gondoalvor, to discuss the collaboration on Friday in Lafia the Nasarawa State Capital.

The Commissioner appreciated the NOA for their efforts in propagating the policies and programs of the government and applauded their efforts in maintaining the cultural heritage of the people.

On their part,the NOA state Director commended the ministry for their efforts in publishing quarterly magazines and newsletters, which have helped to inform the public about the government’s policies and programs.

She further sought synergy with the ministry to sensitize the public about the new national anthem, as they did with the state anthem.

The Commissioner urged the NOA to join the state in the fight against fake news and misinformation, which he described as a significant threat to national security. He assured the delegation of the state government’s readiness to partner with any progressive step to inform the people and also assured them of an open-door policy.
