Governor Sule’s governing principles attract Global Recognition- Ex- SSG

Pleased with recent developments in the state and coupled with human transformation, Chief Philip Dada a former Secretary to the Nasarawa State Government has held that the incumbent governor of the state has propelled the state on the path of progress.

Chief Philip Dada the immediate past commissioner for works and housing maintained that since May 29th, 2019 when Governor Abdullahi Sule took up the mantle of leadership in Nasarawa State, has a clear vision and determination to surpass the expectations of the people through the development of the NEDS document.

He outlined a comprehensive roadmap to propel Nasarawa State towards progress.

He further averred that “Governor Sule’s focus extended beyond critical infrastructural development to prioritizing human capacity building, empowerment of women and youth, skills acquisition, civil service reform, rural development, and more. “Governor AA established a robust governance framework aligned with global best practices, which emphasized internal control mechanisms, transparency, accountability, and competitiveness in procurement processes.

Hammering on the policy of the administration of Engineer Sule, Philip said the Governor’s commitment to these principles and the effective functioning of these institutions has garnered global attention to his style of openness in governance.

“This recognition has not only resulted in numerous accolades but has also attracted significant financial rewards from global institutions and international financial houses to the state government.

“Some of these rewards have even been provided in hard currencies. And the funds received have been channeled into the state coffers and utilized for specific projects and development programs, ultimately for the benefit of the beloved people of Nasarawa State.

“During his first tenure, Governor Sule established the State Public Procurement Bureau, which has played a pivotal role in saving substantial amounts of government funds by preventing leakages and curbing contract inflation. The bureau’s implementation of transparent and competitive procurement processes has not only safeguarded the state’s financial resources but has also enhanced accountability and efficiency in project execution” Philip reiterated.

Philip Dada who holds a traditional title in Karu LGA as the Ajiyan Karu also posited that Governor Sule’s efforts in promoting good governance, have attracted income to the state government through institutions such as Newmap and NG-CARES.

The institutions have rewarded Nasarawa State for its commitment to these principles, further validating the state’s dedication to transparent and responsible governance.

According to him “Governor Sule’s focus has always been on the value that these recognitions bring to the state’s financial resources and the elevation of Nasarawa State’s profile among the best-governed states in the federation.

” His meticulous attention to the development of strong institutions, supported by the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has ensured their viability. This legislative backing has instilled confidence in global donor agencies such as the World Bank, IMF, and others, who view Nasarawa State as a friendly state with reliable structures and institutions.” Chief Philip added.
