Telecommunications service provider, Globacom, has launched M-Agric, an agricultural support service that walks users through the step-by-step, practical processes of managing successful farming businesses across the Livestock, Aquaculture, Cash Crops, and Value-Additions chain. This is in line with the company’s commitment to contribute to food sustainability in Nigeria.
The company started the agricultural support lottery service in collaboration with the Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture to empower and encourage young, smart and knowledgeable Nigerians to become farmers in order to enhance the push for food availability and affordability.
According to a press statement from Globacom, M-Agric is a lottery service that provides helpful tips to customers on how to grow their own food and generate additional revenue by fully utilizing the opportunities available in the agricultural industry.
According to Globacom, it also gives customers the chance to answer trivia questions on the service to win amazing cash prizes, farm equipment, and farm internship possibilities. Users can also choose to get messages on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis about agricultural tips on their mobile devices.
The cost of subscription is N50 per day, N200 per week, and N500 per month. Both Glo new and existing prepaid and postpaid customers of Glo can try this service for free for a whole day. There’s a draw on the last day of every week wherein individuals who have correctly answered the trivia questions and subscribed are eligible to win.
The company stated that winners of the lottery are selected based on how well the trivia questions are answered. “The lottery draw offers magnificent prizes to the best quiz takers. Those who complete the trivia with perfect marks will be divided into two winners, each of whom will receive amazing gifts,” Globacom disclosed.
Prospective M-Agric users are encouraged to sign up by dialling *20791*2# and following the instructions to be included into the lottery. According to Globacom, a subscriber can earn instant airtime or cash prizes based on his or her performance by answering just three questions on the day’s topic.
