The Plateau State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has called on Governor Simon Lalong and his government handlers to give peace a chance in Langtang LGA of the state by allowing the elected Chairman of the LGA to complete his 3rd year in office.
Chairman of People’s Democratic Party in the state Chris Hassan who address newsmen in Jos at the PDP party Secretariat on the current political developments in his state, said that in spite of the Justice Kunda Ishaku declarative judgment of last week reinstating the PDP chairman of the Council, Joshua Laven Ubandoma, Lalong Government has refused to honor the court judgment that reinstated Langtang North Chairman to Complete his 3 years tenure.
According to Hassan, the ousted APC candidate has no place in Langtang North LGA as chairman because the court declared there was no vacancy in the first place.
According to Hassan  Justice Kunda Ishaku judgment granted the applicant five reliefs, and summarily indicated that the judgment is declarative, meaning the PDP chairman is restored to his office with immediate effect, without any procedures or protocols associated with executionary judgment.
He warned Governor Lalong not to create a crisis of legitimacy and identity of leadership in Langtang North and precipitate confusion and possible bloodshed.
He commended the new Police Commissioner, Batholomew Nnamdi Onyeka, for his quick intervention by sealing the local government council Secretariat to avoid a clash of the two parties which if left unchecked could lead to blood spill and possible breakdown of law and order in the Locality.
Hassan recalled that Lalong is orchestrating breach of the law and desperation in Langtang North less than two weeks after he allegedly sponsored seven members of the State House of Assembly to commit illegality in the name of impeaching the state Assembly Speaker Hon Abok Ayuba.
According to Hassan, Â the PDP will continue to explore the instrumentality of the law in the state to recover all that belongs to PDP on the Plateau.
