Operatives of the Amotekun Corps in Ondo State have arrested a member of a kidnap syndicate who disguised as a female in Akure for kidnapping members of a church during service.
The suspect was arrested one hour after he invaded the church with members of his gang.
The man who wore a blue gown and artificial breast together with the members of his gang kidnapped four church members including a 78-year-old woman priest in the church
Amotekun State commander, Adetunji Adeleye said the suspect was arrested on the spot while others escaped after the corps received a distressed call from the church.
The commander also disclosed that 75 criminals who specialised in kidnapping, stealing of phones and selling of Indian hemp have been arrested within two weeks of operation clean up in the state, according to him some of them have been screened and their prosecution has commenced while investigations on others continue.
He added that about three hundred and fifty motorcycles also known as Okada and fifty vehicles were impounded during the corps operations clean up in the last two weeks.
The Amotekun boss appealed to members of the public in Ondo state not to buy secondhanded phones or patronize unpainted taxi cabs in the state as ritualists and kidnappers are using them to carry out their criminal activities in the state.
He warned criminal minded people to stay clear of Ondo state as there is no hiding place for them before, during and after the Yuletide season in the state.
