Fallout Of EndSARS Protest Portrays Youths’ Anger Over Suppression – Anambra Governorship Aspirant

The immediate past President and Chief Executive Officer of Transnational Corporation of Nigeria PLC and Anambra State Governorship aspirant, Valentine Ozigbo has accused the older generation of not letting Nigerian youths have equal opportunity in the scheme of things, hence they seized the recent #EndSARS protest to vent their anger.

Ozigbo, made this know during a recent interview with Arise News, recently. According to him, Nigerian youths have excelled in a lot of areas where government failed. In this vein, he said that “I identify with the youths. I think they have shown resilience for many years. If you watch closely, you will find out a lot of places where the government have been out of the way, that is where the youths have done well.

“The entertainment industry, the sports and all of that do well because the government have little or no presence and it looks like then the government comes in anywhere, they become a blockade and this is what we have seen.

“The older generation took what belonged to the younger generation and we have seen the outcome (protest). This was inevitable,” he said. Commenting on President Muhammadu Buhari’s speech after the shooting at Lekki Toll Gate shootings, he said the speech lacked empathy and could have been better.

The governorship aspirant noted that “one of the things perceived was the lack of empathy with people over what happened. Their argument was the presidency could not comment on something that did not have enough evidence.
