The youth leader of the Labour Party, Prince Kennedy Ahanotu,Thursday, extolled the peaceful disposition of its members even in the face of provocation. He made the remark while addressing the press on the forthcoming Governorship and State Houses of assembly elections slated for Saturday, 18th March 2023.
He stated that it was obvious that Peter Obi and his Vice, Ahmed Datti was voted by the masses and they won the election clearly which is why the party is contesting the process in court.
He expressed the gratitude of the party for the calm behaviour exhibited by Obidients after what he remembered, the wrongful declaration of Tinubu as the winner of the election, even as the opposition expected that Obidients would jump into the streets, so they could take the advantage to damage the evidences and cause social unrest.
He avowed that the party’s resolve is to remain focused and resolute towards reclaiming the stolen mandate, which by God’s grace must be retrieved. Ahanotu asserted that the party never expected the journey to be easy but no matter how tortuous it may be, the party is ready to weather the storm, recover the victory and restore true democracy to the nation.
He stressed that the Saturday election will offer the party another opportunity to identify with Obidients across the country and that the party stands strongly behind all its candidates as the protest on the election result would be done at the polling units.
The youth leader mocked the opposition for taunting the party for being just four people tweeting in a room but the party convincingly garnered over six million votes, even when Labour Party has over fifteen willing registered voters.
Ahanotu averred that this move is to let the whole world know that Labour Party truly won the Presidential election and show the opposition that it is resolute in taking back its mandate.
He revealed that the party is poised to win in Lagos, Plateau, Rivers, Nassarawa and all the States where the election will hold and urged the security agencies to protect the youths and desist from joining the old order politicians in their nefarious practice of oppressing and intimidating the youths of the country at the polling units as the life of the Nigerian youths matter, which is the reason for their being absolutely Obidients.
He urged all Obidients to eschew any selfish desire and focus on making a political statement on Saturday’s election to prove that Peter Obi truly won the election.
