An appeal has gone to the Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule to fulfill his campaign promise by constructing drainage from Toto Local Government secretariat to Rafin Kunama as heavy rainfalls have destroyed houses and other properties in Toto town.
The Toto Local Government Area Chapter of the Youth Assembly of Nigeria (YAN) while making the appeal added that the heavy downpours have led to cutting off the access road leading to some neighbouring villages linking Nasarawa and Kogi states.
Speaker of the group, Yusuf Adamu Omehi noted that constructing drainage is the next alternative to address the challenge then called on Governor Sule for his urgent intervention.
Omehi listed some affected areas to include Alh Adamu Yakoyako along Toto Eest Primary School, Angwuwan Adawo, Late Alh Abdul Kareem Ohekwu, among others.
He also solicited for the provision of relief materials by stakeholders in the community ahead of state government’s intervention.
“We are equally calling on our critical stakeholders to come in and assist the affected people so as to feel relief before the intervention of the state government,” Omehi said.
The YAN leader also seized the opportunity to appreciate the commitment of Governor Sule towards taking Nasarawa State to next level.
