FG to Partner States In Bid to Harness Nation’s Mineral Resources

The Federal Government has reiterated the plans to collaborate with state governments to harness mineral resources for maximum socio-economic development of the country.

Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Mr Dele Alake stated this while playing host to the Nasarawa State governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, at the Ministry’s Headquarters in Abuja on Friday.

Alake, in a statement by the Deputy Director, Information, Alaba Balogun, assured the governor that Nasarawa and other endowed states will soon witness robust development that would enhance the living standards of the citizenry under the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Tinubu.

The minister restated the significance of Nasarawa State in terms of solid minerals development, assuring that the ministry has put mechanisms in place to ensure that Nigeria derives maximum benefits from her God-given abundant mineral resources.

‘We are going to harness and utilize efficiently, effectively and proficiently to ensure that Nigeria really expends the resources also judiciously from solid minerals. That is the next petroleum of Nigeria,” the minister said.

Acknowledging the significance of Nasarawa State as sitting on next “petroleum,” Alake said it is imperative to cooperate, synergize and coordinate all dynamics surrounding mineral explorations, exploitations as well as judicious spending of the resources.

Earlier, Governor Sule expressed delight to have Mr Alake piloting the affairs of the ministry.

He described his appointment as a win-win situation for the entire nation.
