The Sucession Note Pastor Taiwo Odukoya Never Wrote

By Ameh Comrade Godwin-Azikiwe

Dear Fountainers,

By the time you read this, I would have departed from the earthly realm and joined the heavenly choir in eternal praise.

Although I am no longer physically present among you, my spirit and the legacy we built together remain to guide and inspire you.

In 1992, an indelible vision was imparted upon Pastor Bimbo and me by the grace of God. A vision to lead, to uplift those seeking purpose, and to create a community dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the world.

It was this divine calling that urged me to leave a prosperous career at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and lay the foundation for the Fountain of Life Church, a sanctuary of hope and love.

Thirteen years after the inception of our ministry, tragedy struck on the fateful day of December 11, 2005, when Pastor Bimbo was called home following the Sosoliso Airlines Flight 1145 mishap. Despite the immense loss, our faith remained unshaken, and we persevered in growing the ministry with the strength and grace bestowed upon us by the Lord.

In 2010, guided by the divine will, I entered into a blessed marriage with Pastor Nomthi. Sadly, the Lord called her home in November 2021, a testament to His mysterious and unfathomable plans.

Throughout our journey, we held steadfast in our belief that Christ is the true head of the church, a principle we adhered to from the very genesis of our ministry. After years of fervent prayers and seeking His divine will, God has chosen a worthy individual, a set man for himself, to take on a higher responsibility within the church. As Romans 9:18 reminds us, “He has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden.”

In my final days on this earth, I have shared the grace and wisdom bestowed upon me by God with this chosen individual. They have indeed drawn from the Fountain of Life and are ready for the higher responsibility that lies ahead.

In my final moments on this earthly plane, I have passed on the grace and wisdom that God bestowed upon me to Pastor Jimmy Odukoya, our beloved son and brother. He has imbibed from the ‘Fountain of Life,’ and it is evident that he is called to fulfill a significant role as the representative of the church.

I implore all Fountainers to rally around Pastor Jimmy with your unwavering support, fervent prayers, and boundless love. He needs the strength and encouragement from each and every one of you. Let us ensure that the vision we have cherished so dearly does not wane or falter.

I extend my deepest gratitude to all the workers in the vineyard—protocol, media, sanctuary keepers, choir—who have dedicated their labour and love to advance the Kingdom of God.

Above all, brethren, my fervent desire is to welcome you at the feet of Christ on the resurrection morning, to rejoice and celebrate together at the grand event, the marriage of the Lamb.

Yours in Him,
PTDO
