The Nasarawa State Acting Commissioner of Police, DCP Shettima Jauro Mohammed has listed 18 suspects that were arrested in various locations for different crimes and as well as presented 27 recovered Arms and Ammunition.
DCP Shettima Mohammed who is in acting capacity as commissioner of police in Nasarawa State in a press briefing on Monday paraded the suspects and the recovered arms at the Police Command Headquarters Lafia, the Nasarawa State Capital.
While making the presentation and parading the suspects, he pointed out that 5 suspected kidnappers, 10 Armed Robbers, 2 suspects arrested for Culpable Homicide and another suspected rapist were arrested at different locations and dates within the state.
According to him” Based on credible information that One Mohammed Sani of Agyaragu Tofa, was tied on both hands and legs, locked up in a room and was starved to death and hurriedly buried by his family members on allegation of Witch Craft.
” Police operatives swung into action and arrested two persons in connection to the crime.
” A detachment of Police operatives attached to Obi Division while on vehicular patrol along Adudu- Azara road intercepted two motorcycle riders carrying three passengers each. A search was conducted and One AK 47 rifle and 26 Rounds of 7.62 mm live ammunition were recovered from the following persons. Namely, Omiya Ijimi, Mable Ijimi, and Terkenge Simon.
Others are Ujihga James, Kenneth Tsoka, Andover Simon, Tamun Simon, and Beega Simon. All males of Ibuan village of Obi” He listed.
DCP Shettima however said the investigation was ongoing at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Lafia.
