As the Super Eagles of Nigeria are ready to play Angola in Friday’s quarterfinal of the current African Cup of Nations in Cote D’Ivoire, the Honorable Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Owan Enoh, issued a heartfelt message to them on Thursday.
In his message, Enoh congratulated Jose Peseiro’s team on their triumph over the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in the round of 16.
Additionally, he stated that Nigerians have total faith in the Super Eagles to win the AFCON title and make their country proud.
Enoh remarked in a statement issued by his S.A. Media, Diana-Mary Tiku Msan, “You outclassed and thumped an old foe who came into the party determined to halt your resolute march towards clinching the coveted trophy.”
The Minister reminded the team that the task is not yet finished and urged them to continue on the path of victory.
“Although you have presented a creditable picture of yourselves thus far, allow me to briefly remind you that work remains to be done and will be completed when you return home with the coveted trophy as deserving African Champions.
“Your determination,commitment and improvement through every match has shown all the possibilities that the team has all it takes to win the 2023 African Cup of Nations. We absolutely believe in you.
“This obligation has been pushed upon you by fate and the aspirations of well-meaning Nigerians. You should grab this chance and do our nation proud by “Doing it again,” he added.
