Next summer, Napoli will likely sell their talisman striker, Victor Osimhen, according to seasoned agent Dario Canovi.
On Christmas Eve, Osimhen signed a contract extension with Napoli.
The Serie A champions have signed the Nigerian international till 2026.
It is also said that a release clause worth between €130 million and €140 million has been included to the agreement.
Canovi announced that the 24-year-old will depart the Partenopei at the conclusion of the current season, with Napoli finding it difficult to duplicate their performance from the previous campaign, which saw them win the Scudetto for the first time in 33 years.
He went on to say that the contract extension will raise the cost of the forward.
“Napoli has faced challenges ever since the championship began. Canovi told TMW, “I think what’s happening is a result of (Luciano) Spalletti and (Cristiano) Giuntoli leaving.”
“The club was essentially butchered after letting both of them go; they were the mainstays of Napoli’s winning team. Giuntoli in particular, and Spalletti.
“Osimhen is a renewal that does little more than drive up costs. I think he’ll disappear in June.
