AMAC Chairman’s aide Yusuf Yunusa honoured in Igboland

Renowned Abuja-based human rights and social justice activist, Yunusa Ahmadu Yusuf, has been honoured with a covetous and prestigious chieftaincy title in Igboland for his contributions to the maintenance of peaceful coexistence of all Nigerians in the Federal Capital Territory.

Chief Yunusa was on Friday, conferred with the traditional title, ‘Wan’nem dinamba 1 of Ndi Igbo’ by the Odumeze Traditional Council of Lokpanta Kingdom, Abia State.

Performing the coronation, HRH. Eze Ifeanyi Anthony Jude Eke of the traditional Council stated that Chief Yunusa Yusuf was carefully selected for his towering role in ensuring that all Nigerians, particularly of the Igbo speaking extraction, live in peace in Abuja, especially during EndSars protests that rocked the nation’s capital, destroying property worth billions of naira.

His royal highness Eke hailed Wan’nem dinamba 1 of Ndi Igbo and the Buhun Barkonun Abuja of heroic roles which prevented further loss of lives of Nigerians and destruction of their property.

Revealing that the latest Wan’nem dinamba 1 of Ndi Igbo was the youngest recipient of the unique and prestigious chieftaincy title, the royal father said as translated: “The recipient of this traditional title today, which we cherish and hold dear in and out of our Kingdom, is so far the youngest we are so honouring.

“And his recognition is due to the heroic sacrifices he made towards ensuring that lives, peace and properties are secure and protected nationwide through meaningful and impactful advocacy, with specific reference to the proactive measures he adopted and championed to nip the EndSars Protest in the bud.”

Wan’nem dinamba 1 of Ndi Igbo is not a stranger to FCT residents, government circles and the security establishments, as he has successfully championed the cause of the down trodden, original inhabitants and the common man in the nation’s capital.

It was this cause which he fought resolutely, which has made him a friend to both the low and mighty in society that made the current Abuja Municipal Area Council Chairmen, Christopher Zakka Maikalangu to appoint him as his Senior Special Assistant on Community Relations to help rally the round for development of the Council and Territory.

Buhun Barkonun Abuja (bad of pepper), the Abuja Chief Advocate, and now the Wan’nem dinamba 1 of Ndi Igbo, meaning a brother in a far away town, is a young man of sufficient courage, determination and a progressive mind.
