Governorship candidate of the Action Alliance (AA), Chief Jeff Nweke on Thursday pledged to prioritize security and job creation in Anambra State if elected.

He blamed insecurity and youth restiveness to unemployment, promising massive employment initiatives to engage youths positively and reduce crime.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after securing party ticket at the primary election, Nweke also assured priority to welfare of the masses, a core value of the party.

“Under an AA administration, the masses will be our first priority. We will do everything possible to ensure the well-being of the people of the State. This is my promise,” he stated.

Acknowledging the challenges ahead, including stagnation in development of the state, the guber hopeful expressed readiness to fight for the liberation of the people.

“Things have been stagnant in Anambra, and I am here to move the state forward to greater heights. We will implement policies that will inspire the people of Anambra to believe in us,” he stressed.

Nweke further appreciated the delegates for choosing him as their candidate, just as he underscored the importance of unity in the forthcoming election.

“I am humbled and overwhelmed by the trust and confidence you have reposed in me, and I will not disappoint you and the state.

”We are going to win this election, but I won’t do it alone. We all must work together to achieve victory.”

Nweke secured 58 votes in an option A4 open ballot system, surpassing his two opponents who garnered 8 and 6 votes respectively.
