Anambra APC Congresses: Court Adjourns Till Feb 18

An Awka High Court 1, presided over by Hon. Justice Ike Ogu, yesterday Thursday, ruled that the All Progressives Congress (APC) was properly served in a case instituted by Local Government Chairmen and Ward Chairmen in the Anambra State Chapter of the party.

The plaintiffs are seeking a declaration of the court that their tenure, following their election in May 2018 is not over.

Justice Ogu had faulted the submission of APC which entered appearance for the first time in the The court had issued an interlocutory injunction, restraining the party from conducting any congress in the Anambra State Chapter, or appointing any officers, except the plaintiffs and their counterparts,

Counsel for the 2018-elected officials, Patrick Ikwueto SAN thereafter moved a motion to set aside the congresses conducted in the state on January 26,January 28 and January 30,2022,in defiance of the subsisting court order.

The court thereafter adjourned until Friday , February 18,2022 to enable APC respond, and for arguments and ruling on the motion to quash the said.
