Anambra election; Andy Uba has accepted defeat – APGA chieftain

A Chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Evang Chinedu Obigwe, said the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has accepted defeat of the just concluded Anambra Governorship election.
Obigwe who is also the National Co-ordinator APGA Media Warrior Forum disclosed this in his release to newsmen in Awka.
He said, “It is finally over as Andy Uba openly confessed that he lost the November 6th governorship election because of several forms of sabotage.
“I will say that this December is a season of confession for Anambra APC.
“The party stakeholders are now telling Nigerians that they lost Anambra election to the God-ordained incoming Governor of Anambra State, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo that is now Governor-elect.
“The party major stakeholders said it openly at a meeting they convened in Abuja.
“Senator Joy Emordi in her speech at a stakeholders meeting summoned by Ngige said that APC lost the election because Andy Uba boasted that the results of the election has been written in his favour and already in his custody.
“She further said that Andy Uba reposed so much confidence on the written results and for that reason, he refused to go for the campaign at the grassroots and also refused to reconcile with those that are not happy with how he hijacked the party ticket in a broad daylight robbery.
“On the part of Senator Chris Ngige, he blamed their party loss to Andy Uba broad daylight robbery of their party ticket and his display of arrogance towards other party leaders.
“He also said in a recently published interview that Andy Uba was boasting of how plans to rig the election in his favour have been concluded.
“According to Ngige, what Andy Uba was doing got to unbearable level for him and he went to get permission from President Buhari to excuse him from participating in the election because he does not want to be associated with the rigging plan of the demonic Andy Uba for the election.
“Ngige further revealed that President Buhari gave him the permission to stay away from anything concerning the November 6th election and he did as the President permitted.
“He concluded by saying that even before the conduct of the election that he know that APC will not win because a majority of the party stakeholders in the State are not happy with how Andy Uba stole the party ticket in a broad daylight robbery without a primary election.
“I read an article authored by another APC stakeholder that was widely circulated online, in that article, the author gave a detailed account of how APC lost that November 6th election to Prof Soludo.
“But the interesting part of the article is the revelation made by the author on what transpired between Andy Uba and the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osibanjo.
“According to the author, APC tradition is that in supporting their party governorship candidate that the Vice President will attend the campaign flag-off ceremony of the candidate and the President will attend the campaign grand finale.
“But that when Andy Uba fixed his campaign flag-off ceremony that the Vice President invited him to come and brief him on APC preparation for the election.
” The author disclosed that when Andy Uba met with the Vice President, he lied to him that all those that contested for the party ticket with him have been settled.
” He also told the Vice President that the results of the election have been written in his favour.
“When he left, the Vice President summoned another meeting with the aggrieved aspirants and they told him that they did not settle anything with Andy Uba and that they will not support him in the election.
“Discovering that Andy Uba lied to him made the Vice President to be very angry but the main thing that angered the Vice President to his bone marrow is the boldness of Andy Uba that he used to tell him that results of the election have been written in his favour and already in his custody.
“This was the main reason why the Vice President cancelled his scheduled trip to Anambra to attend Andy Uba campaign flag-off ceremony.
“The confession that I will describe as the straw that broke the camel’s back is the confession made by Andy Uba himself.
“On Friday, he held APC stakeholders meeting with his own faction at Abuja where the faction allegedly adopted him as the party leader in Anambra.
“In his speech at the meeting, Andy Uba confessed that APC lost the November 6th governorship election because the party stakeholders failed to form a united body before the election and because of several forms of sabotage.
“With this above confession of major APC stakeholders, I will boldly say that the Court case instituted by Andy Uba against the election he also confessed that he lost because of sabotage is tantamount to a mockery of himself.
“For me, truth is a 9-month-old pregnancy that cannot be covered with bare hands.
“The truth of how Andy Uba lost the November 6th election has been exposed and I will say that God is truly at work.”
