Anambra State government has reassured that all measures had been put in place to further strengthen security in the state.
Gov Willie Obiano, represented by his Secretary, Prof Solo Chukwulobelu, disclosed this when the legal practitioners, under the auspices of Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), protested over the alleged murder of one of their colleagues, Bar Frank Onwuachi.
Bar Onwuachi before his death was the President General Omor community, in Ayamelum local government area.
He was reportedly kidnapped and killed by unknown persons, last week.
Prof Solo Chukwulobelu who regretted the sad incident announced that a joint security task force had moved into action to ensure that such deadly act would not occur again, adding that the community vigilant groups, as well as leaders of town unions, had been briefed on what do.
According to the resolution signed by the Chairmen and secretaries of the eight branches of the Nigerian Bar Association NBA in Anambra state, led by the Chairman Onitsha Branch, Bar Mr Onyechi Ononye and Ekene Okonkwo of Awka, pointed
“That all lawyers in Anambra State shall boycott all courts from Monday, 22/3/2021 to Wednesday, 24/3/2021.
“That all lawyers in Anambra State should converge at the Judiciary Headquarters, Awka on Monday, 22/3/2021 by 12 noon for onward movement to the Government House, Awka to express our dissatisfaction with the current security situation in Anambra State.
“Chairmen of Bar Branches in Anambra State are requested to sensitize their members and various Court heads to ensure compliance with the above directives.”
