By Phil Okose, Onitsha
The Anambra State chairman of Civil Liberties Organisation, CLO, Comrade (Evangelist) Vincent Ezekwueme, Sunday, applauded Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his relentless efforts in inculcating moral rectitude in his administration.
He made the remark in reaction to alleged viral video sex party, purported to have been held at Winters Garden Hotels and Suites Ifite, Awka, Anambra State, on 3rd September, 2022, by yet to be identified persons.
“We received with joy and gladness, the closure of Wintess Hotel Awka, over purported hosting of sex party, alleged to have been organized by yet to be identified promoters of  the illegality and absurdity. It is  most despicable that such happened in the university community despite that students and staff are on more than six months strike.
“There is need to get to the root cause and ascertain the actual authentic promoters and organizers of the devil event as Anambrarians, and Nigerians are eager and inquisitive to know the organizers and the motive behind it.
“Evil triumphs not because of those who do it, but because good people sit back and do nothing. We thank greatly, His Excellency, for having political will and courage to sanitize the State and inculcate high moral standard and respect for law and order in the state.
“It is very unfortunate and detestable that this amorous and disgraceful act has brought and bought negative image and impact on the State and her citizens. This has shameful, painful and devastating shock and effects on our youths, society and state.  It is an anathema and antithetical to our religion, culture, tradition and belief,” he said.
He stressed the need to abhor and resist attempt to put the State and society into morally bankrupt, putrefying and decadent society and state.
He urged Governor Soludo and Commissioner for Culture , Entertainment and Tourism, Hon. Dom Onyenji, to swing into action, take decisive steps further and constitute men and women of impeccable integrity to unravel those responsible for the detestable act and circumstances surrounding such devilish, immoral, despicable and disgraceful act as well as their motives
This he stated would certainly serve as a deterrent to others as well as  to ensure adequate sanctions are meted to the perpetrators, adding that it is unbelievable that now Anambrarians should be praying, seeking for blessings, mercy, love of God and for restoration of adequate security, peace, unity, progress and end to lingering strike by University lecturers, such disgraceful, devilish and regrettable atrocity took place in the state, and described it as an anathema.
Ezekwueme called on religious leaders to order for seven day fasting and prayer for God’s intervention, blessings, grace and mercy upon the State and her citizens in view of negative and irreligious atrocities in the state recently.
