The Executive Director Accident Prevention and Rescue Initiative (APRI), Amb. Prince Fidelis Nnadi, who doubles as the consultant on Public Affairs to the Conference of Directors and Chief Road Traffic Officers of the Federation has reacted to the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaqIn bid to bolster road traffic and safety rule compliance, the Kwara State, by officially handing over 10 brand new motorbikes and two Hilux vans to the Kwara State Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO), during a ceremony held on Tuesday, in Ilorin, the State capital.
Amb. Nnadi commended the Executive Governor for breaking the age long tradition of neglecting the VIOs by some State Governors.
Amb. Nnadi in a chat with our Correspondent, appealled to other States’ Governors to emulate the Governor of Kwara State to also improve their respective road traffic management agency for the interest of road user safety in the country.
He however, advised the Governor not to relent in sustaining this development as road traffic safety is a continuous investment.
You may wish to recall that the the Kwara State’s Hon. Commissioner for Works and Transport, Engr. Abdulquawiy Olododo officially handed over 10 brand new motorbikes and two hilux vans to the Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO).
Hon. Olododo, in his remark, applauded the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for his unwavering commitment towards improving the workforce efficiency of Vehicle Inspection Officers (VIOs) which has led to enhanced performance and productivity in road traffic safety across the State.
He emphasized the importance of using the new motorbikes and Hilux Vans to improve road traffic enforcement which will enhance safety of road users and revenue generation for the State government while also ensuring that vehicles plying Kwara Roads are certified to be road worthy.
The Hon. Commissioner further stressed that this recent acquisition is within the approved procurement of 10 motorbikes and three Hilux Vans for the agency.
