Arsenal reopens the Osimhen race

The newest team to be connected to a summer transfer for Victor Osimhen, a striker from Nigeria, is Arsenal.

Italian reports stated that negotiations are in progress with the Napoli striker following Benjamin Sesko’s decision to remain at RB Leipzig and sign a new contract.

The Nigerian star, 25, has expressed his desire to leave Napoli, with the Premier League as a potential destination.

The player has a €160 million release clause, which Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis will utilize to offer Antonio Conte, his new coach, a substantial summer spending budget.

Osimhen’s career was halted by injuries and a lack of fitness after a stellar Serie A debut season, and Napoli’s disastrous Serie A title defence was the result.

The Saudi Arabian team, where Osimhen is rumored to have received an offer over €40 million per season, appears to have dampened Chelsea’s enthusiasm in signing the Nigerian sensation, despite reports to the contrary.

Il Roma (via calcionapoli24.it) now reported that the Premier League runners-up from the previous campaign had been in touch with Roberto Calenda, Osimhen’s agent, to discuss the prospect of a summer transfer to the Emirates Stadium.
