Renowned comedian Basketmouth, also known as Bright Okpocha, has questioned the achievements of senators from Nigeria.
This is happening in the midst of the ongoing disputes around the purported N3.7 trillion that was added to the nation’s 2024 budget.
In an interview conducted a week earlier, Senator Abdul Ningi, who represents Bauchi Central, claimed that the N3.7 trillion allocated for 2024 could not be linked to specific projects.
In response to the accusation, Ningi was suspended for three months by the Senate during its plenary meeting on Tuesday, which was chaired by Godswill Akpabio.
In response, Basketmouth asked if the Nigerian Senate had ever done anything for the common people other than increase spending in a post on his Instagram story.
“Aside from padding budgets, what else do our senators do?” the writer penned.
“Like, what have they done that has benefited the typical Nigerian in the last fifty years?”
