ASSUS Commend Gov Kefas For Distribution Of Lab. Kits To Secondary Schools in Taraba

The Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools, (ASUSS) Taraba state branch has lauded Governor Agbu Kefas of the state for provision of mobile science laboratory kits meant for science students across secondary schools in the state.

Governor Kefas had on Tuesday through the state’s Ministry of Science and Technology distributed one hundred and twenty-six mobile science laboratories to secondary schools to bridge the gap created in the schools while the government is constructing infrastructures to mitigate science and technology for the students.

The chairman, Taraba state branch ASUSS Comrade Sule Albasu, while briefing journalists over the development lauded the free and composery education policy of the governor, stating that provision of the mobile science laboratory kits to the students is timely and would bridge the gap that would have been created while the state government is working to construct permanent structures for laboratories in the secondary schools.

“Science studies is a delicate field especially to young students, if they are undergoing lessons and at a time there is a gap, they will be at lost, for the government to procure the mobile science laboratories so that students should continue learning while they wait for permanent laboratories is very sensitive and commendable.

“The governor’s free education policy is on track, ASUSS is ready to support him to succeed, we are also urging his administration to prioritize the warfare of teachers, they are the driving force of the policy, let there be motivational incentives to the teachers to have conducive environment to give in their best to the students.

New National Star report that the state’s commissioner for science and technology Hon. Muslim Abdulahi while presenting the mobile science laboratory kits to benefiting principals said the one hundred and six was the phase one of the program.

“The governor wants the students to continue with their lessons uninterrupted while he makes provisions for permanent laboratories for all the schools, this is just the phase one of the distribution of the kits, all the teachers should guide the kits jealously to last for the test of time while the governor construct the infrastructure.

Local government areas that benefit in the first phase of the distribution includes, Jalingo, Lau, Sadauna, Gasol Wukari, and Zing.
