The Ondo state commandant of the State Security Network Agency codename Amotekun, Chief Adetunji Adeleye has sounded a note of warning to the newly recruited members of the security outfit to be fearless and steadfast in discharging their duties until the state get rid of the last criminal in the State.
He gave the warning at the beginning of the Basic Regular Training BR 002 for the affected corps, held at Government Technical College in Owo, in Owo Local Government Area of the state.
The purpose of the training is to ensure the general fitness for the newly recruited corps.
At the campground, Chief Adetunji Adeleye assured them that by the end of the exercise, they would be able to defend the people and face any form of challenges in the state.
In his words: “You have come to serve humanity. So bringing you for this training is a service to humanity. You are not permitted to use your uniforms to oppress people, but to serve.
”You are the security ambassadors of our various communities. You cannot afford to disappoint the high calibre of people.
Adeleye, also warned that since the Ondo State government is solidly behind the corps, the newly intakes cannot afford to disappoint the people, stressing that they must remain disciplined, fearless and steadfast until the state get rid of the last criminal in Ondo State.
He urged the trainees to remain disciplined in the ongoing training so that at the end of the training it will show that the selected participant are physically fit for the job.
Also speaking, the Senior Special Assistant to the Ondo State Governor on Security Matters, Alhaji Jimoh Dojumoh, expressed happiness that the trainees are physically fit.
The commander said the men will be allocated to different units in the Corp in their various local government areas immediately after the exercise.
