In August, the states of Benue, Bauchi, and Gombe paid the most for premium motor spirit (PMS), or gasoline.
According to the NBS, the average cost of gasoline was N830.46 per liter in the PMS report for the previous month.
The agency reported that, in comparison to the N626.70 recorded in August 2023, the average retail price paid by customers showed a 32.51 percent increase.
“In addition, the average retail price increased by 7.78% from N770.54 when compared to the previous month (July 2024),” according to NBS.
Following Bauchi and Gombe States, with N935.71 and N925.00, respectively, Benue State had the highest average retail price for Premium Motor Spirit (Petrol) according to State profile study.
However, according to NBS, the states with the lowest average retail prices for gasoline were Delta, Cross River, and Edo, with prices of N667.50, N672, and N676.25, respectively.
The South-South Zone had the lowest average retail price of N677.11, while the North-East Zone had the highest average retail price of N908.21, according to the bureau.
