Benue is tense as police detain lawmaker.

Concerns have been raised in Ogbadibo Local Government Area, Benue State, regarding the reported police arrest of Hon. Samuel Agada, a member of the Benue State House of Assembly representing the Ogbadibo state seat.

According to information obtained, Agada was taken into custody when he got into a fight with the police while trying to get a constituent released.

According to sources, Agada was unfairly treated by the police, which incensed his assistants, who demonstrated against it.

There is a suspicion that Hon. Agada’s struggles are related to the state’s political division.

Because he interacts with all members of his constituency, regardless of their party affiliation, Agada is thought to be impartial in the state’s political dynamics.

“The arrest of the Assembly member is uncalled for as he was carrying out his constituency oversight for a constituent,” stated Comrd Ameh Ojema, a youth leader in Ogbadibo.

“He has refused to align with any of the political tendencies in the area and has always stood with his people.”

Ojema claimed that Agada’s struggles were politically driven since they had suspicions about a Benue All Progressives Congress, or APC, group.

Mr. Joseph Udo, a young man from Ogbadibo, also rushed to Facebook to denounce the legislator’s arrest, claiming it was done for political reasons.

“There is a difference between a big lie and a small lie, but this guy is clean on this one,” he remarked.

“Stop the blackmailing; Hon. Samuel Agada Awuchi is a responsible person; politics is deep.”

When contacted, SP Catherine Anene, the spokeswoman for the Benue Police Command, stated that while she was unsure of the specifics, Agada might have been detained for assaulting police personnel.
