The inability of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) to conclude its assessment of Kanu’s health status and present its report before the court, Wednesday stalled his trial.

The federal high court, Abuja gave the other following the Biafra leader’s claim that the medical facility at the Department of the State Service (DSS) headquarters cannot cater for his health development.

The embattled Kanu has been asking the court to order the prosecution to move him to the National Hospital for proper medical attention as his health is failing.

The court also wants to ascertain through the report whether Kanu is fit to stand for continuation of his trial.

However, at the resumed trial, Wednesday, counsel to the prosecution Mr Suraj S’aad SAN, noted that the medical board had contacted them that the report was not ready for presentation as directed by the court.

The DSS, therefore, prayed the court to adjourn for one week to enable the NMA Medical board conclude its investigation.

Responding, counsel to Kanu, Onyechi Ikpeazu SAN, didn’t object to the adjournment prayer.

Consequently, the matter was adjourned till October 16th for the board to submit its report.
