Boko Haram: We are determined to bring the war to a definite end – Theatre Commander

The Theatre Commander TC Operation Hadin Kai Major General Chris Musa has assured that the Armed Forces of Nigeria is determined to bring the war on insurgency to a definite end in no distant time.

He equally commended Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Farouk Yahaya for providing sound equipment to enable his soldiers fight the insurgents to finish.

General Musa was speaking in Maiduguri, while hosting the wife of the Chief of Army Staff, Mrs Salamatu Yahaya who also is the National President of the Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association NAOWA.

He noted that to this end effort were on to deploy this equipment to the maximum advantage of the fighting troops in the war theatre.

General Musa said that efforts were on to ensure that the war is prosecuted to a definite end which will bring lasting peace to the region and economic development for the people.

He assured that with over 30,000 surrendered insurgents, away from 20,000 in 2021, soldiers are better placed to crush the enemy as directed.

General Chris regretted that before the Advent of General Yahaya, the needed platform to fight back could do with more support which is why with the new back up from the COAS, the sky is the beginning of their victory.

The TC said that indeed Maiduguri is far better than before adding that as long as this key equipment that forms a formidable platform keep coming, he can guarantee rapid success before the end of 2022.

“I am quite satisfied with the status of the state capital so far. You could see the freedom of movement during the wedding of the son of the inspector General of police. I can assure you that over thirty gets flew into the city and left peacefully.” He told the crowd during the dinner party.

Responding, the wife of the Army Chief Salamatu Yahaya called on the women to appreciate the men for the hard work they have put this far to restore liberty to the theatre.

“It’s high time we begin to appreciate our husbands the more for fighting to liberate the territory from the enemies. I also want to call on the gentlemen officers to show respect to their spouses especially in our interaction with each other for keeping the home front.

“I believe that NAOWA should equally be drafted in one way or the other into the war so that our husbands will be happier.” He said

Salamatu revealed that NAOWA is an avenue to manage human resources and give education and empowerment to the women while left alone in the barracks as their spouses are fighting in the bush.

And that is why from a humble beginning of one school in Dodan Barracks Lagos to train their kids, the association now has 40 Schools national wide and the counting continues.

Salamatu posited that NAOWA has changed from the previous perception that it used to be to a more transformed and proactive one now.

“We are now involved in giving massive business skills and education to the prosperity of our people. And this is its new dimension.” She maintained

She prayed special prayers for the TC who is the representative of her husband in the war front.

Salamatu who visited the war theatre in company of many other officers’ wives for the wedding program of the son of the inspector General of police was also well received in the Army officers mess of the 7 division of the Nigerian Army in Maiduguri.

Highlights of the occasion was the presentation of special plaques to the wife of the Army Chief and other dignitaries.

Present at the occasion were the wife of the TC, Liliana Musa, wife of the new GOC, Safia Shaibu, Representative of Governor Babagana Zulum, Babakura Abajato, Zuwaira Gambo who represented the wife of the Governor, Wife of component commanders and officers from the entire management team of operation Hadin Kai
