Bola Oyetunji, Nigerian native, named Australia Auditor-General

The next Auditor-General will be Bola Oyetunji, a professional who was born in Nigeria, according to the New South Wales government in Australia.

Oyetunji is scheduled to take over as Auditor-General in April, replacing Margaret Crawford, who is already serving as her successor, after Premier Chris Minns made the news.

Oyetunji was appointed after a recruitment procedure that was merit-based, according to a statement on the official government website.

He was formerly the Group Executive Director of the Financial Statements Audit Service Group and the Group Head of the Australian National Audit Office’s Systems Assurance and Data Analytics Group. He also held senior positions at the NSW Audit Office for a protracted and fruitful period of time.

“I applaud Mr. Oyetunji’s appointment to this state’s next Auditor-General.

“His broad experience in all governmental levels will be greatly appreciated.”

“The Audit Office will continue to make sure public funds are used to get the best results for NSW under Mr. Oyetunji.

“I express my gratitude to outgoing Auditor-General Margaret Crawford PSM for her outstanding work over the last eight years, which includes numerous noteworthy reviews carried out by her and her team,” Minns stated.

“Mr Oyetunji’s credentials in auditing, including his roles at the Australian National Audit Office and Audit Office of NSW, will be invaluable to ensuring public money is spent properly to best serve the people of NSW,” asserts Treasurer Daniel Mookhey.

“I would also like to use this opportunity to express my gratitude to outgoing Auditor-General Margaret Crawford PSM for her eight years of dedicated service to the Parliament of New South Wales, helping it to hold governments responsible for their use of public resources.”

“It is a great honor to be appointed as the next Auditor-General for NSW,” stated Oyetunji.

“I am dedicated to upholding the independence and integrity necessary for my position in holding state and federal agencies responsible for the way they handle and administer the resources entrusted to them. Serving in this role for the NSW Parliament excites me.
