A Grade 1 Area Court sitting in Karu, Abuja has granted bail to a student, Nura Abdullahi. He was granted bail in the sum of N50, 000 with one surety with a verified address within the court jurisdiction and must present means of identification by Judge Inuwa Maiwada.
The 20-year-old was dragged to court by the police for allegedly abducting an 18-year-old girl.
The suspect is facing trial on a charge bothering on Abduction contrary to section 273 of the penal code law.
According to the charge sheet obtained by NewNationalStar, on 6th October, one Balogun Kehinde of Supreme Court Quarters Karu, Abuja reported that his daughter one Abdulkarim Kafayat of the same address left home on September 18 2020, without his consent and all efforts to trace his daughter proved abortive.
The complainant stated further that Nura Abdullahi who is the boyfriend of his daughter was the one who abducted the girl and hid her for the purpose of illicit sexual intercourse with the girl.
However, he pleaded not guilty when his offence was read before him in court.
The case was adjourned until 9th November 2020 for further hearing.
