Senator Kashim Shettima has said that the North East is short change by the current administration in terms of roads construction.
Shettima who is representing Borno Central at the Senate made this known during a budget defence of the ministry of Works/Housings on Wednesday in Abuja.
He said, money allocated to other regions for road projects in the 2021 budget proposal is far better than that of the North East
However, the Minister of Works/Housings, Babatunde Fashola in reaction said he will not tolerate a situation where senators will cast aspersions on his staff, adding that most contractors were not disposed to commencing work at the North East region due to the activities of insurgency.
Meanwhile, Fashola insisted that despite that the North East as well as other regions are well taken care of in the budget.
