Champions League: Lookman creates history in  victory over Shakhtar Donetsk for Atalanta

Ademola Lookman’s goal and assist against Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday night tied Duvan Zapata’s record for Atalanta in the UEFA Champions League.

In their match on matchday two, Gian Piero Gasperini’s team triumphed 3-0 over the Ukrainians.

After twenty-one minutes, Lookman put up Berat Djimsiti for the first goal.

Then, just one minute before halftime, the Nigerian international doubled Atalanta’s lead.

The 26-year-old became the second player from Atalanta to score and provide an assist in a Champions League match, making history.

Zapata accomplished the double while he was a member of the Bergamo team.

The 33-year-old achieved the feat for the first time against Danish club, FC Midtjylland in October 2020.

In November 2021, the former Napoli striker did it again, this time against Manchester United.
