Chelsea FC having won UEFA Champions League two weeks ago are now looking ahead to the transfer window opening on Wednesday and putting the foundations in place for a fresh Premier League title charge next season.
Head coach Thomas Tuchel, who extended his stay at the club by a further two years on Friday, has plans to bring in at least three new faces, with a new striker set to be at the very top of his wish list. As well as new arrivals being expected, several players are likely to leave the club this summer, especially those that have found themselves on the fringes of the first-team squad in recent months.
However, there are indications that Chelsea could be forced to wait until next summer to sign their top striker. A top striker has been on the top of Chelsea’s list ahead of this summer for some time, but it seems they may have to wait. Erling Haaland is looking more and more likely to stay put with Borussia Dortmund slapping a huge price tag on the Norwegian, and Romelu Lukaku says he wants to stay for at least another season at Inter.
