Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, has urged residents of the council to spread the gospel of love, tolerance and peaceful co-existence as the nation celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ at Christmas.

In a message to mark the 2023 Christmas celebration, Maikalangu, congratulated residents, particularly the Christians on this spiritual occasion and remarked that the celebration calls for sober reflection as well as emulating the exemplary life of Jesus Christ.

He further charged the entire residents of the FCT to rededicate themselves to the service of God and humanity to make Nigeria a better place, during and after the festive period.

In a statement by his senior special assistant (media and public Affairs), Kingsley Madaki, the AMAC chairman, while expressing gratitude to God for the privilege and mercy He has granted Christians in other parts of the World to commemorate the auspicious celebration in an atmosphere of peace and tranquility, also urged Christians to imbibe the virtues which Christ lived for.

He appealed to all residents of the council to continue to be good neighbours to their fellow residents, irrespective of religious beliefs, that the best in the sight of Almighty God is the most pious, specifically advised them to make a firm commitment to selfless service to the growth and development of Nigeria.

Maikalangu noted that despite the current difficulties confronting the council and the entire nation, a new dawn is about to set in the country, and residents should all pray for the success and support of the FCT Minister, His Excellency Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike for all the massive job he is doing in the entire FCT and pray that almighty God grant him more wisdom to succeed.

He continued, “I will continue to discharge my statutory responsibility to all residents of the council, especially, in the protection of lives and property,”
