The woman leader of the National Association of Nigeria Traders (NANTs) in Abuja the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Dr (Mrs) Rachael Adewumi has urged members to prioritize financial discipline during the Christmas celebrations.
Addressing journalists on Tuesday in his office in the nation’s centre of unity, Ambassador Rachael Adewumi, who doubles as the President, Takem Empowerment Initiatives (TEIs), an NGO that trains and empowers the widows, orphans and the less privileged in the society, cautioned members against indulging in extravagant spending, emphasizing the need to manage their finances wisely.
“While we celebrate Christmas, I urge all our members to be mindful of their financial situation and avoid overspending,” she advised,” stating that: “It is essential to prioritize our financial responsibilities and make conscious decisions about how we allocate our resources.”
The traders’ woman leader therefore noted that the holiday season can be a challenging time for traders, with increased expenses and financial pressures. However, she emphasized that with careful planning and financial discipline, members can navigate the season without accumulating debt or financial hardship.
“Let us be prudent in our spending and avoid unnecessary expenses,” she advised, adding: “Instead, let us focus on building a strong financial foundation that will serve us well beyond the holiday season.”
